Learn Spanish in Peru

Take a Spanish Course in Peru and explore the country's mountains, deserts, ancient Inca cities and rainforests.

Peru is famous for the magnificent Inca city, Machu Picchu, but there are many other historical sites that reveal the story of pre-Columbian South America. You can visit the ruins of Chan Chan, which used to be the largest city in all the Americas, marvel at the puzzling Nazca lines or find out more about the ancient Chavin culture in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chavín de Huántar. The country's museums are also rich in historical artifacts. In modern day Peru, native culture has not been lost and you can still find remote communities living in a traditional way. Even the largest cities reveal their roots during festival times when icons are carried through the crowded streets just as the mummies of the Inca rulers once were.

Food in Peru deliciously combines traditional recipes with Spanish, African and Asian influences, making it some of the most varied cuisine in the world. With a huge amount of fresh ingredients grown in the country's eight climates, there is no shortage of choice. Here you can try ceviche (fresh fish/sea food prepared in citrus juice and spices), a multitude of different potatoes layered with avocado and meat in causas, Amazonian chocolate and much more.

In Peru, the locals speak Spanish very clearly so even beginners should have no problem understanding. A variety of native languages are still spoken in some areas, including Quechua and Aymara, but you will always be able to communicate in Spanish.
