WAYRA has been offering Spanish classes since 1996 in the central Costa Rican beach town, Playa Tamarindo. Classes are taught in small groups (maximum 6 students) by enthusiastic and experienced teachers. The school has modern facilities, but also uses outdoor classrooms surrounded by tropical gardens so that students can make the most of the beauty of their surroundings.
Located just a short walk from one of Costa Rica's most famous surfing beaches, WAYRA is ideal for those looking to combine their Spanish course with some surfing lessons. Wayra is also an official DELE examination centre, so is a great school in which to prepare for and sit the DELE exam.
The school is just one block away from the beach and there are plenty or shops and restaurants close by. The main school building is spread over two levels, with classrooms on the second floor and a cafeteria and student lounge on the ground floor. All WAYRA teachers have a university teaching diploma and, on average, more than five years of experience teaching Spanish.
The staff at WAYRA organize an activity programme that includes hiking, sailing, dancing and cooking lessons, sports matches and visits to nearby national parks. Some of these activities are free and others are offered at a reduced price.
